Chabad hosts lecture on Israel Awareness

Chabad of Orange County recently hosted an evening and lecture entitled, “Israel: Struggle for Survival; From Destruction to Renewal,” with Rabbi Shalom Hammer of Israel. Attending with Hammer, center, were Mitch Wenzel, left,of Monroe, Lester Pleeter of Chester, Orange County Legislator Jeff Berkman of Middletown and Gil Goetz of Monroe. Hammer, an author and contributing writer for the Jerusalem Post, served as a Rabbi to the IDF and continues to help motivate combat soldiers. He is currently a teacher at the Yeshiva Sderot and serves as scholar in residence and guest lecturer for many communities throughout the Diaspora.
