Central Valley Elementary family health fair is March 22

    CENTRAL VALLEY - Central Valley Elementary School is hosting its third annual family health fair on Tuesday, March 22, from 6::30 to 8:30 p.m. The event includes a “Hoops for Heart” program sponsored by the American Heart Association, a “Spring into a Healthy Me” program in conjunction with the school’s health office, a yoga and meditation session with a wellness advisor and emergency services information courtesy of the Woodbury Ambulance Corps. “Hoops for Heart” is an event created by the American Heart Association where students learn basketball skills and about heart health, while helping children with special cardiac challenges who will be the beneficiaries of the money they raise. Organizers said area businesses and health-related organizations will also be part of the evening and there will be raffles for baskets and gift certificates to local stores and restaurants. Proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation and the American Heart Association. The evening is presented by the Central Valley Elementary Fifth Grade Student Advisory.
