Celebrate Rene this Saturday evening

Monroe — Friends and family of Rene Guerriero will host a fund raiser this Saturday, Oct. 8, from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Bourbon Street Bar and Grill to help offset some of the medical expenses resulting from her treatment for Stage IV breast cancer. “Rene is a dedicated mother, wife and friend,” Amy Kluck, one of the organizers wrote in the press release announcing the fund raiser. “Her amazing positive energy through her battle with cancer has made her a hero to us all. Now is the time for us to step up and be a hero to Rene and her family and to support and celebrate a truly remarkable woman.” The Bourbon Street Bar and Grill is located at 78 Millpond Parkway in Monroe. The $25 donation at the door will go directly to Rene and her family. There will be music, dancing, raffles and auctions. The proprietors of Bourbon Street also will donate a percentage of the sales from the evening to the family.
