Cecille Jones to lead O&R's corporate communications

PEARL RIVER - Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. has named Monroe resident Cecille Jones as manager of the its Corporate Communications Department. Jones started out 23 years ago as a senior writer in the same department. In her new position as section manager - corporate communications, Jones will plan, implement and manage corporate communications activities designed to promote awareness and understanding of O&R’s policies, programs and procedures. Her supervisory responsibilities cover the entire range of O&R communications functions from print and electronic advertising and publications to audio-visual productions, social media and O&R’s Internet and Intranet sites. Prior to her new appointment, Jones served for five years as O&R’s manager - marketing communications. Previously, she had worked as its manager - consumer publications. Before she joined O&R in 1988, Jones worked as the director of public/community relations for a St. Louis health-care conglomerate. Prior to that, she was a visiting lecturer in the Science Awareness Program at Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville. Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in English, Biology and Secondary Education from Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Mo.; and a master’s degree in English Literature from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville. She also holds a teaching certificate in English and a reading instruction certificate. Jones is a member of the Monroe Temple of Liberal Judaism where she is currently a member of the Adult Choir. She lives in Monroe, with her husband David, her daughter Eliana, and her step-daughter, Bianca.
