The seventh annual $1,000 Kelly Lynch Memorial Scholarship was recently presented to Callie Wood by American Legion Post 488 Commander Douglas Kloiber. Wood will graduate from Monroe-Woodbury High School and attend Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J., in the fall. First Vice Commander Martin Currid, left, Commander Douglas Kloiber, father Robert Wood, Callie Wood, Kelly Lynch’s mother Eileen Lynch, mother Lori Wood, and Bob Martell, Post 488 second vice commander, gather during the scholarship presentation. When Kelly Lynch passed away after a tragic accident, her parents who are both members of Post 488 decided a scholarship seemed the appropriate way to honor her memory.
