The Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson and YWCA Orange County announce that the nomination period is now open for the 2020 Orange County Tribute to Women of Achievement awards.

For 28 years, the Tribute awards have recognized women in Orange County who have made a difference for local women and girls through their professional, personal, or school-based activities. There is also an award for an Outstanding Young Woman of the Future in the 16 to 21 age category for demonstrating a commitment to improving the quality of life in her community.

Completed nomination forms are due to the selection committee for review by Sunday, Dec. 8. The forms are available at girlscoutshh.wufoo.com/forms/r1hsr3oo0q1rq2s or by contacting Deb Bogdanski at 845-236-6002 ext. 495 or dbogdanski@girlscoutshh.org.

More than 260 women from throughout Orange County have been recognized since the award's inception in 1992. Honorees have hailed from a diverse range of professions and volunteer activities, including arts, business, health and human services, public service, military, and education. Strong candidates will be committed to empowering women and girls and exemplify the missions of the Girl Scouts and YWCA.

"The Tribute to Orange County Women of Achievement is Orange County's premier women’s event," said Deb Bogdanski, Chief Development Officer, Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson. "For nearly three decades, Girl Scouts and YWCA have recognized highly accomplished women and girls from all walks of life, who live, work, or volunteer in our community. We encourage people to nominate the women of achievement in their lives to help share their stories and celebrate their accomplishments."

The Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson and YWCA Orange County have been joining forces for 28 years to honor Orange County women who serve as role models and make a difference for local women and girls through their professional, personal, or school-based activities. The 2020 honorees will be recognized at the annual Tribute to Women of Achievement dinner on May 13, 2020.
