Bryan's Dog House opens in Central Valley

Central Valley - Being in the “doghouse” used to be a bad thing. But not anymore. Bryan’s Dog House opened this week with a menu devoted to delicious hot dogs with all the fixings. With the hot dogs, proprietor Bryan Kelemen is offering a variety of hot and cold toppings, including mustard, sauerkraut, baked beans, chili, mole sauce, cheese, jalapeno, onions and tomatoes. And that’s just some of them. Side orders are also available, including crisp french fries, onion rings and beverages. Perhaps the best buy is Kelemen’s “Daily Special” which includes two hotdogs with any toppings, french fries or onion rings and a soda for $6. In the near future, Kelemen, a graduate of the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont, plans to add other selections to the menu, including knishes and pastrami sandwiches. Customers may either eat-in or take out. Off-site catering is also available. Call 845-637-7130. Bryan’s Dog House is open every day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. It’s located at 20 Smith Clove Road next to the Central Valley Fire House and across from the Smith Clove Elementary School. Long time residents will remember that for many years the building housed Perrone’s Grocery Store. Rocky Perrone was a fixture in the community and a plaque to his memory stands just down the street under a huge tree adjacent to the old Central Valley train station.
