Brownies make a 'difference in someone else's life'

To the editor: We are so proud of our scouts from Brownie Troop 333 in Monroe. They have gone above and beyond. Each of the girls, second-graders at Pine Tree Elementary, collected money so the troop could sponsor a family that was affected by Hurricane Katrina. As a troop we collected $800 and mailed the money to a family that was a friend of someone we knew. We sent gift cards to that family which enabled them to purchase clothes for their children and items that they need to keep them going. My fellow troop leader Rachel Beltrami and I are very proud of all of our girls. You all should be extremely proud of yourself. You all made a difference in someone else’s life.
