Monroe Junior Troop 283 recently completed its Bronze Award work, the highest award a junior Girl Scout can achieve. They volunteered at the Blooming Grove Humane Society, did a neighborhood collection of items to donate the animals and created decorations and toys for the animals. The girls also assisted in preparing the cages for a new day, cleaned, provided food and nurtured the cats. They also fulfilled the Bronze Award requirements by earning the Sign of the Star and Sign of the Rainbow. Some of the girls also earned the Sign of the Sun. Gathering during their neighborhood campaign are some of the troop’s members: Alena DeLuise, Angela Iaccarino, Bridget Brennan, Dana Carey, Gabby Duncan, Kristina Skowronski, Mary Banville, Rebecca Littman and Sophia Consalvo.
