Bring your best-loved dolls to the Best-Loved Doll Tea on May 21 at Monroe Free Library

Monroe - The Monroe Free Library is gearing up for one of its most popular annual events: The Best-Loved Doll Tea. Every year, kids are invited to bring (and dress up as) their favorite dolls and enjoys games, a craft, tea, juice and snacks. The Best-Loved Doll Tea is entering its second decade and remains one of the library’s most popular events. Melissa Quarles, Head of the Children’s Department, says that children should feel free to bring their favorite dolls, no matter what they are or what condition they’re in. Rebecca Caudill’s 1962 book The Best-Loved Doll is the story of a girl who decides to bring her worn, favorite doll to a party and is surprised by the warm reception that the well-loved toy receives. The tea will be held at the library Saturday, May 21. Advance registration opens Monday, April 25. Because of the program’s popularity and the library’s limited space, registration is expected to fill up quickly; interested kids are encouraged to act fast.
