‘Bring professionalism and integrity back to Village Hall'

To the editor: In response to Peter Scrobe’s letter in the March 3 edition: When I lost the election in 2004 I swore not to become involved in local politics, but enough is enough. Full medical benefits are not for life, only until the retiree is Medicare-eligible. Scrobe should be aware of the medical plan, for it was he that championed the buyout for officials while he was in office. Scrobe was one of Karl’s biggest critics until the 1998 mayoral election, when Scrobe suffered a humiliating defeat. He then joined forces with anyone that could help him unseat any incumbent. Karl’s and Scrobe’s claim that I was involved in undermining the 2004 campaign is a bold face lie. Anyone that knows me realizes that I ran a clean campaign. Only one candidate, Karl, and his cohort Scrobe, are resorting to mudslinging and accusations as the basis for their campaign. Why? For some, attacking another person’s character is the only way they know how to make themselves look good. Please vote for the three qualified - gentleman - candidates, Peifer, Chan and Purcell, and bring professionalism and integrity back to Village Hall. It is sorely missed. Lindsay S.
