BOCES will host the 2011 Orange County Spelling Contest on March 16 in Goshen

    Goshen - The annual Orange-Ulster Spelling Contest will be held on Tuesday, March 15, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Emanuel Axelrod Education Center on Gibson Road in Goshen. Seventh- and eighth-grade students attending public, private and home schools in Orange County will participate in this annual oral spelling bee. The event is sponsored by the Times Herald-Record and organized by the Orange-Ulster BOCES School Library Services. Orange County School Boards Association donates ribbons and plaques for the participants/winners. The snow date is Wednesday, March 16. The first-place winner of the Orange County Bee will have the opportunity to compete on the national level at the Scripps-Howard Spelling Bee to be held in Washington, D.C., from May 29 through June 3. The students competing this year are from: C. J.
