Bigger lessons to be learn'
To the editor: I can’t help but comment on the letter from the mother whose child lost his expensive Sony PSP video game at North Main Elementary School. I am sorry that your son lost this device, and I do hope that an honest person will turn it in, but I can’t help wondering why he brought it to school with him to begin with. We in the Monroe-Woodbury School District pay high taxes for our children to get the best education possible. It seems odd to me that as a parent of a school-age child that you would even allow him to take it to school with him. I would not allow my child to take his to school. I know that teachers find it a distraction to the learning process. I am sorry he is upset and, again, I hope someone returns it, but maybe there is a bigger lesson to learn here: School is for learning ... not playing video games. Respectfully, Christopher Fisher Harriman
