Big Mike's moves into Monroe
MONROE - The Italian eatery Big Mike’s - named “Big” in recognition of its large-sized portions and “Mike” after the father of owners Freddy and Frankie Berardini - moved into larger accommodations last week. Previously located in Harriman, Big Mike’s followers are now enjoying pizza and entrees in a much larger place on Route 17M, across from The Captain’s Table, in Monroe. Co-owner Frankie Berardini is thrilled with the response he’s seen in the first few days. “This place is just crazy all day,” said Berardini. “It’s pretty much insane. Everyone wants to come and eat.” Big Mike’s offers just about every Italian entrée one can think of, which may be a welcome change for many after the leftover Thanksgiving turkey and trimmings are finished. “We’re known for our large portions,” Berardini said, who along with his brother has been in the restaurant business in this area for 10 years. “And, people love our food.” For information, call 774-3322.
