Basketball player Christina Clarkin named M-W ‘Athlete of the Week'

Central Valley - Christina Clarkin, a member of the Monroe-Woodbury Girls Varsity Basketball team coached by Linda Trapani, is the high school’s “Athlete of the Week” for the period ending Dec. 24, Athletic Director George St. Lawrence announced. Chrissy, a senior, led the girls basketball team to a 51-43 victory over Kingston with 13 points, 8 steals, 3 assists and 8 rebounds. Her tenacity on defense also disrupted Kingston’s offensive rhythm. Chrissy has had an outstanding athletic career at Monroe-Woodbury. She has been a major contributor to the girls cross country, basketball and spring track teams.
