Bank robbery suspect sought

Monroe - Village of Monroe continue to chase down leads a week after a man wearing a Columbia University baseball hat walked into the First Federal Saving Bank on Route 17M and displayed a note demanding money. The robbery took place about 1:40 p.m. Nov. 10. The man, described as about 6’ tall with brown hair and eyes and between the ages of 30 to 35, left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money, police said. No weapon was displayed. He was last seen walking away from an adjacent parking lot, wearing a navy blue windbreaker type coat and a tan and green baseball hat with Columbia University written on the front. Police ask that anyone who might have information about the case to contact the Monroe Police Department Detective Unit at 845-782-8644 or call the Tips line at 845-492-TIPS.
