Bank accepting community service scholarship applications

Montebello — The Provident Bank Charitable Foundation is accepting applications for the 2006 Community Involvement Scholarship Program. The foundation will award $1,500 scholarships to local high school seniors demonstrating an outstanding commitment to community service. Applicants must be high school seniors in Rockland, Orange, Ulster, Sullivan, or Putnam Counties in New York or Bergen County in New Jersey. In addition, students must attend a college in one of those counties and must have completed a minimum of 40 hours of community service over the past two years of high school. The Community Involvement Scholarship Program has awarded more than $100,000 to local students since its inception in 1992. The application deadline is May 2, 2006.
