Asleep at the wheel

Passersby were quick to capture the moment last Thursday when a young New Jersey driver drove his car into the pond in downtown Monroe. Village Police said the driver fell asleep at the wheel. He was not injured and no tickets were issued. A rescue team from the Monroe Fire Department was dispatched just to make certain no one was hurt. The car was later pulled from the water.
