The Traveling Naturalist program, “A is for Apple, C is for Cider,” was held Sept. 26 and 27 for Kindergarteners from the classes of teachers Amy Spielberger, Elizabeth Heffner and Anne Guzman at Smith Clove Elementary School. Naturalist Sara Mayes first worked with students in the classroom, discussing the various types of apples, their parts and how they grow. Then the students get to go outside and help Mayes make apple cider by placing apples in an apple press. Roe Orchards in Chester donated the apples for this program.
