William J. Vogel Jr. of Springhill, Fla., passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2020, with family by his side. He was 85 years old.
On that day Heaven gained an angel.
Bill was born Oct. 28, 1934, in New York City, the son of William and Martha (Taylor) Vogel.
Bill was retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service. Prior to retiring to Florida, Bill was the owner operator of the Demerest Hotel as well as Fire Captain of the Good Will Hook and Ladder Volunteer Fire Company in Warwick.
Bill was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was devoted to Ann, the love of his life to whom he was married for 65 years.
Bill will be remembered for his devotion to family and the life stories he loved to share to entertain the people closest to him. He loved living in Florida. He loved the water and enjoyed all his outdoor toys and tinkering in his workshop.
Bill was an active member of the Hernando Beach Yacht Club and The Hernando Beach Club.
Bill is survived by his wife Ann; three children: daughter Ann Marie Moore and husband Pete, son William Vogel and son Robert Vogel and wife Nancy. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his grandson Peter Moore Jr.
Bill will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated July 6 at St Theresa Church in Spring Hill, Fla.
Burial followed at Grace Memorial Gardens in Hudson, Fla.
