Vivian Van Cleef Oser

Vivian Van Cleef Oser, a longtime resident of Monroe, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018. She was 100 years old.
The daughter of John Alton Van Cleef and Marion (Bush) Van Cleef, Vivian was born on July 16, 1917, in Pompton Lakes, N.J.
She was predeceased by her loving siblings Mary Lou Manna, Marion Boo, John, Bill and Bud Van Cleef and her daughter-in-law Catherine Oser.
Vivian took pride in working at the Red Apple Rest, Thompson Diner, Tony’s Park Inn and the Bright Star. She will be remembered for her warm smile and dedication.
One of Vivian’s fondest memories was spending summers as a young girl with her loving grandfather Hudson G. Bush in Central Valley going for rides in his horse and buggy. She loved beauty in nature and her dogs.
Vivian was caring, full of love and warmth. Her family was her world.
Vivian is survived by her children: Holly Dean-Oser (children Dawn, Melissa and Gary), Jerrold Oser (children Debbie, Jerry, Jason and Jessica), Paul Oser (wife Mary Ellen children Danny, Paul and David), Donna Wiegert (children Jennifer and John), 23 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, many in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and family too numerous to list but not forgotten.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 2, from 10 a.m. to noon at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.
A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home beginning at noon.
Interment will follow at Cemetery of The Highlands in Highland Mills.
