Vincent D. Cordi (“Vinny”) of Central Valley passed away on Jan. 30, 2023, at Garnet Health Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. He was 60 years old.

The son of Dominick and Maria (Alvaro) Cordi, he was born on Oct. 20, 1962, in Brooklyn.

Vinny was retired from his long-term career as a Senior Business Analyst for Guardian Life Insurance Company in New York City, where he enjoyed many friendships that gave him treasured memories.

Vinny was a passionate and soulful man, deeply committed to his family, especially his granddaughter, Eliana, the highlight of his life. He loved and nurtured his three pups, or “his kids” as he called them: Bentley, Luna and Coco. He was deeply appreciative of the love and care given to him by the Davita dialysis team (his other family) in Middletown over the past several years.

Vinny was a funny, intelligent, and sensitive man, who loved cooking for his family and friends. He had a passion for learning new things, evolving into the diversified collections he studied and enjoyed. But his biggest joy was making the people in his life laugh and happy. His larger-than-life personality touched the hearts of the many people he met along the way.

Once you met him, you never forgot him.

Left to cherish Vinny’s memory are his loving wife Frances Cordi of Central Valley; daughter Christine Matos and her husband Gregory of Stony Point; siblings: Joseph Cordi and his wife Antoinette of Manhasset; and AnnaRose Curley and her husband Robert of Cortlandt Manor; nephews: Christopher Santora and his wife Myra, Joseph Cordi and his wife Jillian; Christopher Cordi and his wife Narissa; and Nicholas Cordi; granddaughter Eliana Matos; and his great nephew and nieces: Joseph Cordi, Arabella Santora and Olivia Santora.
