    Thomas Charles O’Neill of Southport, N.C., and formerly of Warwick, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, at Hospice House of Brunswick in Bolivia, N.C. He was 69
    The son of Harold and Margaret (nee Dooley) O’Neill, he was born in White Plains on Jan. 31, 1947.
    Tom was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
    He was a data center manager for United Parcel Service in Mahwah, N.J., and IBM in Sterling Forest.
    Tom was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Southport, N.C., and was formerly a 35-year member of St. Stephen Church in Warwick.
    Tom was the coach for the St. Stephen School Basketball team for many years. He also coached Warwick Little League and the Warwick Valley Country Club Golf Team.
    Tom also volunteered for the Warwick Ecumenical Food Pantry.
    He is survived by his wife of 45 years Carole E. O’Neill of South port, N.C., and his children: son Daniel O’Neill and his wife Kristie of New Milford, Conn., and Megan Conklin and her husband John of Highland Mills: his six grandchildren: Ayden, Brady, Caroline, Kasey, Sophia and Alexandra. Also surviving are his mother-in-law Sophie Kepponen of Southport, N.C., his brother James O’Neill of Valley Cottage, sisters Marilyn Ducey of Calabash, N.C., Margaret Fuchs of Knightdale, N.C., and Kathleen Neuman of Duluth, Ga.,as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was predeceased by is son Thomas Edward O’Neill and his brother Harold O’Neill
    Visitation will be on Sunday, Oct. 23, from 3 to 7 p.m. :at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.
    A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, at St. Stephen R.C. Church.
    Private cremation will follow.
    Donations in his memory may be made to “Team Pa” in the “Angels Among Us” walk to be held at Duke Medical Center in Durham on April 29. All proceeds are in support of the leading edge research at the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center.
