Sophie Ampel
Sophie Ampel of Monroe, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died peacefully at her residence with her loving family by her side on Thursday, May 17, 2012. Sophie was 75 years of age and had been a resident of the area for 40 years.
Sophie is survived by her devoted husband Bernard Ampel and their children: Glenn and his wife Randi Metsch-Ampel, Terri and her husband Mitchell Kayden, Karen and her husband James Knox and Allen and his wife Kathleen Ampel.
She also is survived by her adoring grandchildren Emily, Samantha and Allie Ampel, Elana and Dylan Metsch-Ampel, Joshua and Jacob Kayden, Ian and Jeremy Knox; her sister Alice and sister-in-law Ruth and her husband Arthur Goldstein..
A memorial gathering was held May 20 at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers in Monroe.
