Sister Andrea Marie Sporry, CSAC, a member of the congregation of the Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate (Pallottines) died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at Queen of Apostles Convent in Monroe. She was 86 years old.
Eleanor Sporry was born May 4, 1931, in Brooklyn, the child of Andrew and Julia. Her ambition in life was to serve others.
She became an LPN in 1950. She felt that she needed to do more to help others so on Sept. 8, 1957, she entered the Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate and served as a Religious for 59 years.
How fortunate for those who were under her wing. Each child loved her for who she was.
From 1969 on, Sister was called to serve others in the capacity of School Nurse and Mother House Nurse for the sisters. She enjoyed watching sports, but baseball was her love, “Go Mets Go!”
Survivors include her sisters: Sophie Cassidy, Julie Hodgens, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by her sister Beatrice Sporry and brother Andrew Sporry.
We can honestly say, thank you God, for sending us an angel to guide us and lead us to you. We love you and yes, we will miss you. Thank you for being a part of our lives.
Visitation was held at Queen of Apostles Convent in Monroe on Dec. 3 .
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Dec. 4 at Queen of Apostles Chapel, 98 Harriman Heights Road, Monroe.
