Renee Joan Nowak-Gioeli of Overland Park, Kansas, left for heaven on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021. She was 87 years old.

Renee was born on Feb. 2, 1933 to Mabel Murphy and Eli John Delamater in New York City.

While attending high school, Renee competitively ice-skated and performed with the Ice Capades. She went on to study at Hunter College.

In 1951, she married Lemar Edward Nowak and they built a home in Tuxedo.

They went on to have four children: Leslie (Sickler), Christopher (Nowak), Jacqueline (Thomas) and Stephanie (Cinquanta).

Later in 1993, Renee moved to Evergreen, Colorado, with her second husband, Frank - where she fell in love with the mountains and called it “God’s Country.”

Renee moved in 2013 to be closer to her family in Kansas.

Renee was a gourmet cook and loved hosting parties. As an adventurer, she rode the Concord, traveled the world on cruise ships and fancy train trips.

Renee was an avid bridge player and loved reading and later listening to books. She often enjoyed listening to Elvis and The Ink Spots or watching movies.

Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Max, her cat, was the love of her life and her constant companion.

Renee will be missed greatly, but has left many past and recent wonderful memories for her family to cherish.

Renee was predeceased by Lee, Leslie and her second husband, Frank Gioeli.

She is survived by her children Christopher, Jacqueline and Stephanie; her grandchildren Justin, Ashley, Sterling, Sha, and her beloved Rachael and Robert Cinquanta; and her great-grandchild Alina.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her honor to Alphapointe, a low-vision organization.

There will be a funeral service held at St. Michaels Archangel Parish, 14251 Nall Ave., Leawood, Kansas, on Saturday, Jan. 23, at 10 a.m.
