Olive H. O’Rourke

Olive H. O’Rourke of Walden passed away with her loving family by her side on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at The Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh. She was 79 years old.
The daughter of Patrick and Ellen Thornbury Plunkett, she was born Oct. 28, 1938, in Lucan, County Dublin, Ireland.
Olive worked as a clerk/typist in the library of Monroe-Woodbury Middle School in Central Valley.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Ursula E. Petricek and her husband Edward of Walden; her three grandchildren: Meghan, Sean and Connor; her brothers: Paddy Plunkett of Ireland, Brendan Plunkett and his wife Carol of Monroe, Jerry Plunkett and his wife Doreen of Mahopac; her sisters: Bernie Dwyer and her husband Larry of Monroe, Rita Carr and her husband Ray of Highland Mills; her sister-in-law Barbara Plunkett of Emmaus, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Olive was predeceased by her brothers Eamon and Jim Plunkett, her sister Marie Hegarty, her brother-in-law Dermot Hegarty and sisters-in-law Chrissy and Rose Plunkett.
Visitation was Nov. 1 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home in Monroe. A Funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 2 at Sacred Heart Church in Monroe.
Interment followed in St. Anastasia Cemetery in Harriman.
