Nicola"Nick" Michael Santoro passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. He was 51 years old.
The son of Barbara Caufield Santoro and Nicola Santoro, he was born Aug. 1, 1964, in Flushing, Queens.
Nick was a furrier with Tubari Limited Corp., Passaic, N.J., and an independent contractor.
Nick was an active member of the Monroe Men’s Softball League and Middletown Fast Pitch Men’s Softball League.
Nick was a former Monroe-Woodbury Girls’ Softball League coach and co-founded the Monroe ‘Mazings Girls’ Travel Softball Team.
Nick had a love of thoroughbred horses, all things sports and a tremendous passion for life.
Survivors include his wife Laura Santoro at home; his daughter Olivia Santoro at home; his mother Barbara Santoro of Middletown; his brothers Thomas Santoro and his wife Marina of New Windsor and Michael Santoro and his wife Angela of Columbia, S.C.; his sisters Marie Saggese and her husband Ronald of Montgomery and Donna Biasi and her husband Wayne of Middletown; his brother-in-law Steve Sochinski of Parksville; his sister-in-law Rosemarie Mullaney of Niskayuna; his nieces and nephews: Barbara Ann, Nicole, Vincent, Samantha, Angelina, Gabriella, Dante, Casey, Ryan, Amanda; an immeasurable group of friends and his beloved dog, Bailey.
Nick was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Sochinski, and his nephews: Steven and Shawn Sochinski.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 1s, at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Road, Monroe.
Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
