Former Monroe resident Marie S. Varin passed away on Friday, Jan., 15, 2021, at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. She was 76 years old.
Daughter of Alfred Pinto and Rose Curiale Pinto, Marie was born on Feb. 12, 1944, in Brooklyn.
She was a retired waitress at the Monroe Diner.
Survivors include her husband Andre Varin of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; son William Kevin Bonowski; daughter Deborah Jean Bonowski; step-daughters Regina Mignano, Donna Varin and Marcella Smutko; sister Virginia Jean Cordero and her husband Joseph; seven grandchildren: Jason Kimmel, Brittany Kimmel, Christopher Bonowski, Michael, Paul, Erica and Adriana Mignano; two great grandchildren: Caleb Kimmel and Samara Britton; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held Jan. 27 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.
A Funeral Mass was held Jan. 28 at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Road, Monroe.
Interment followed in St. Columba Cemetery in Chester.
