Linda Frances 'Mickey' Ward Hock

Linda Frances “Mickey” Ward Hock of Wawayanda entered into eternal rest in Heaven on Friday, Jan. 30, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was 73 years old.
The daughter of Lloyd F. Ward Sr. and Claire G. Fogarty Ward, Mickey was born in New York City on May 30, 1944.
A graduate of St. Helena’s High School in the Bronx, she was a co-owner of Bilt-Well Fence Company in Monroe.
A longtime resident of Monroe, Mickey was an iconic figure in the Monroe-Woodbury community. Known as Linda, Mickey, Mom, Ma, Aunt Mick and Grandma, she had a gift for making everyone whose life she touched feel important in a very special way.
During her distinguished lifetime she was always an active participant at church, social and athletic events. Mickey held a special place as an ever-present supporter of Monroe-Woodbury High School athletics.
In addition, she was a past president of the Monroe-Woodbury PTA and was instrumental in the establishment of the CYO basketball program for Sacred Heart Parish in Monroe as well as the Monroe-Woodbury PTA Basketball program and the Monroe-Woodbury Girls Softball League.
Mickey was the proud matriarch of her wonderful family and was a strong and visible member of the “Family First” movement that embraced local charity events. She was also a generous supporter of the annual Special Olympics competition at West Point.
More than anything, Mickey cherished spending time with her large, extended family. She was best known for hosting family events and always providing a great spread of food and drink for all to enjoy, often twice as much as needed.
Mickey is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Louis C. Hock Jr.; her daughters Lori J. Hock and spouse Peggy Jo and Kim M. Marasco and spouse Victor; her son Louis C. Hock III; as well as her cherished grandsons Nicholas and Colten Hock and Dominic and Anthony Marasco.
Mickey is also survived by her sisters Gail P. Ward McManus and Wendy E. Ward Welsh and spouse Patrick as well as brothers Lloyd F. (Butch) Ward Jr. and spouse Noreen, Wayne A. Ward and spouse Eileen and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mickey was predeceased by her special brother-in-law Daniel E. McManus Sr.
Visitation was held Feb. 4 at Smith, Seaman and Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home in Monroe.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 5 at Sacred Heart Church.
Cremation and burial services were held privately at the convenience of the family.
