Lewis Jacobus III, 80, of Monroe, NY passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 14, 2023.
Before retiring, Lewis worked for the International Sheet Metal Association, Local Union 13/25. He was a co-owner, along with his wife, of an outdoor furniture business for over 25 years, Leisure Furniture Designs, as well as a co-owner of Hudson Valley Game Rooms for over 10 years along with his son. He was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman, and hunter who belonged to the Monroe-Chester Sportsmen’s Club. He also loved ice hockey and was a devoted NY Rangers fan.
Lewis was a cherished husband of 46 years to Constance, “Connie” (nee Swingle); beloved father of Bonnie Jean Smith and her husband, Thomas; Elizabeth Nooyen and her husband, Daniel; Lewis Steven Jacobus and his fiancé, Sandra Gonzalez; and Allison Jacobus; treasured grandfather of Weston Smith, James Nooyen, and Jennifer Nooyen; dear brother of Lillian Psomiadis, and her husband, Spyros. He is also survived by a large extended family including his loving brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Thursday May 18, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Ave., Paramus, NJ. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday May 19, 2023, at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, Paramus, NJ. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park.
