Kenneth R. Smith of Highland Mills passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern. He was 77 years old.
The son of Allan and Josephine Smith, Kenny was born on March 25, 1948, in the Bronx. He was a retired delivery driver for Consolidated Dairies in Union, N.J.
He was drafted into the United States Army in 1967, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Woodbury American Legion Post #779 in Highland Mills, where he held all of the positions. He was also a member of the Woodbury Community Association and the Catholic War Veterans of the United States.
Kenny served as a Little League Coach for several years, was a security guard at Earl Reservoir Park, and was a loyal supporter of Wreaths Across America.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Susan D. Chace Smith at home; sons: Allan Smith of Northborough, Mass., and Brian Smith of Miami, Fla.; brother Steven Smith and his wife Christine of Ridgefield Park, N.J.; sister Joanne Lenzie and her husband John of Tannersville, Pa.; sister-in-law Noreen Smith of North Bergen, N.J.; and his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and countless friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Smith.
Visitation was held May 5 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.
A Funeral Service took place in the funeral home on May 6. Interment followed at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, N.J.
