Joseph Peppy Cacchioli
Joseph P. Peppy Cacchioli of Highland Mills passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2012, at the V. A. Hudson Valley Hospital in Castle Point. He was 91 and a longtime resident of the area.
The son of Giovanni and Celesta Verbelli Cacchioli, he was born June 14, 1920,in Borgortaro, Parma, Italy.
Peppy was the president and owner of Peppy & Eddys Restaurant in Highland Mills. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy J. Hoffman Cacchioli at home; sons John P. Cacchioli and his wife Debra of Port Orange, Fla., and James S. Guglielmo of Coldenham and his fiance Kelly Walsh; daughters Barbara A. Duckworth and husband Joseph of Middle Hope, Christine L. Rose and her husband, Thomas of Highland Mills and Celeste L. Cacchioli and her husband Daniel Carcaterra of Highland Mills; brother Henry Eddy Cacchioli of Highland Mills; seven grandchildren: Adam, Vanessa, Rebecca, Gianna, James, Victoria and Mason; two great grandchildren Jonah and Sebastian; nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated March 15 at St. Patricks Church in Highland Mills. Interment followed in the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Goshen.
