    John C. Lee Jr. of Harriman passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, in Harriman. John was 79 years old and a lifelong resident of the area.
    Son of John C. and Sadie Cordisco Lee, he was born April 28, 1933, in Cornwall.
    John retired as a switch technician from Frontier Communications in Monroe.
    He was a parishioner of St. Anastasia Church in Harriman; a member of Woodbury Field & Stream Club in Central Valley; a life member of Harriman Engine Co. #1; a life member, with more than 50 years of service with American Legion Mulligan Eden Post #1573 in Harriman; and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during Korea.
    Survivors include his sisters Marilyn Snee of Marshfield, Mass., Elizabeth Gillespie of Lake Forest, Ill., and Sally Mendelson of Cornwall; as well as his nieces and nephews.
    He was predeceased by his sister Janet Frisbie.
    A funeral Mass is scheduled to be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, at St. Anastasia Shrine Church, 21 N. Main St., Harriman.
    Interment will follow in St. Anastasia Cemetery.
