Ida Ramos

    Ida Ramos of Monroe entered into eternal rest on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. She was 96 years old.
    The daughter of Ramon Reina and Josephine (Martinez) Reina, Ida was born on Oct. 16, 1921, in Manhattan.
    Ida was a retired bilingual secretary for Lederle Laboratory in Pearl River.
    Ida was an advocate of higher education and consequently she and her husband, Joseph, were very proud to have all of their children attend and graduate from college.
    She was actively involved in the lives of all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ida was a very accepting and open-minded person. She respected all of the choices that her children made with equanimity and love. She will be missed greatly.
    In addition to her parents, Ida was predeceased by her loving husband: Joseph Ramos.
    She is survived by her children: Joseph Ramos, Robert Ramos, Emily Ramos, Patricia Hassler and Rita Cruz; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
    Visitation was held Jan. 12 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home in Cornwall-On-Hudson.
    A grave side service was held January 13 at Frederick Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Monsey.
