Gaudelia V. Ulibas of Highland Mills passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, at a hospice residence in New City. She was 82 years old.

The daughter of Geronimo and Maria (Ronquillo) Viloria, she was born on Oct. 16, 1942, in Magsingal, Ilocos Sur, Philippines.

She finished high school 1958 at St William’s Institute in Magsingal, then went to college at St. Louis University in Baguio City where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce with a major in Accounting and Finance.

After graduation she landed a job as accountant with Times Transit Bus Company where she ordered and received mechanic parts for the buses.

When Gaudelia moved to America, she worked for grocery retailer, the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P), in Montvale, N.J., as an expense controller. Often with her budget optimization, her coworkers would give her lemon meringue cake for saving them from overspending.

Family and religion played vital roles in Gaudelia’s life. When she was able, she would attend every Sunday Mass as a devoted parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Highland Mills.

In her later years, her routine was to watch the daily TV mass, play mahjong, share meals with her family, and pray the rosary every night before bed.

Left to cherish her memory are her brothers and sisters in-law: Alberto and Estrella Viloria of Pittsburgh, Pa., Jovencio and Florian Viloria of Highland Mills, and Dennis and Linda Viloria of Williston, Vermont, numerous nieces, nephews, God children, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, Gaudelia was predeceased by her brother Floro Viloria, as well as her sisters Corazon Manzano, Federica Guerrero and Cecilia Viloria.
