Felix A. Melendez
Felix A. Melendez of Monroe passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at The Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh. He was 56 years old and had been a resident of the area for 20 years.
The son of Raul and Maria Otero Melendez, he was born Feb. 14, 1956, in Cidra, Puerto Rico.
Felix was a dispatcher for Sherwood Taxi Company in Mount Vernon.
Survivors include his wife Georgiana P. Kenny Melendez of Monroe; his sons Felix Melendez of Syracuse, Desi Melendez of Syracuse, Bryan Melendez of Carmel and Nicholas Melendez of Monroe; his daughters Melissa Melendez of Syracuse, Maria Maldonado-Melendez of Greenwood Lake and Victoria Melendez of Monroe; his brothers Raphael Melendez of Peekskill and Jaime Melendez of Mount Vernon; his sisters Maria Melendez of Puerto Rico, Lourdes Budde-Melendez of Mount Vernon, Awilda Melendez of Puerto Rico, Nelly Melendez of Cortlandt Manor and Rosa Garcia-Melendez of Yonkers; eight grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from Friday, Feb. 24, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave. in Monroe.
Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
