    Elvin F. Goda of Washingtonville passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. He was 87.

    The son of Jack and Mary Melchisky Goda, he was born June 13, 1924, in Ansonia, Conn.

    He was the widower of Rose Marie Tomer Goda.

    Elvin was a retired shipping and receiving clerk for Avon Products, Inc. in Suffern. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War.

    Elvin is survived by his sons Mark Goda and his wife Christine of Milanville, Pa., and John Goda and his wife Debbie of Afton; his daughters Renee Mege and her husband Dan of Port Jervis and Laura Marshall and her husband Rod Raymond of Wurtsboro; his sister Rita Cronk of Suffern; 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

    In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his daughter Patricia Carbaugh and her husband Robert.

    A funeral service was held March 7 in the Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY.
