Dominick J. Ventura

    Dominick J. Ventura of Central Valley passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. He was 94 and had been a resident of the area for 50 years.

    The son of Francesco and Maria Ventura, he was born Aug. 4, 1917, in New York City.

    Dominick was a retired truck driver with Railway Express New York in New York City. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #4565 in New City, a member of the Woodbury Golden Agers and a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Highland Mills.

    In addition to being a veteran of the U.S. Army, Dominick was an avid volunteer for Castle Point V.A. Hospital, Valley View Rehabilitation Center and McCloskey Knights of Columbus Council #4565 in New City.

    Survivors include his wife Kathryn Goodwin Ventura of Central Valley; his daughter Claire A. Wolf and her husband Thomas of Highland Mills; his grandchildren Tommy Wolf and his wife Alisha and Claudia Wolf; his great grandchild Nevaeh Wolf; and nieces and nephews.

    A funeral Mass was celebrated May 7 at St. Patrick’s Church. Entombment followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery Mausoleum in Middle Hope.
