Domenico Viola

    Domenico Viola of Monroe passed away Friday, March 16, 201, at The Valley View Center for Nursing Care and Rehabilitation in Goshen. He was 89 and had been a resident of the area for 26 years.

    Son of Bernardino and Rosa Viola, he was born Aug. 18, 1922, in Luzzano, Italy.

    Domenico was a retired custodian for Clarkstown School District in New City.

    He was the widower of Antonietta Arganese Viola.

    He is survived by his son Nicola Viola and his wife Esther of Yonkers, his daughter Frances (Alfonsina) Viola of Monroe, his brother Luigi Viola of Italy, his grandchildren Nick and Lisa Viola, and nieces and nephews.

    In addition to his wife, his sons Bernardino and Michael Viola predeceased him.

    A funeral service was scheduled March 21 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home in Monroe, with Pastor Gary Pignaloso officiating. Interment will follow in Seamanville Cemetery in Monroe.
