Diane Fay-Berbenich, formerly of Highland Mills, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021. She was 71 years old.
Diane was born April 23, 1950, to Geraldine (Harrigan) and Joseph Fay in Nyack.
She graduated from Clarkstown High School in New City, received her Bachelor’s degree from Dominican College in Blauvelt, and received her Master’s degree from Long Island University at West Point.
She worked for the Orange County Family Courts as Coordinator of the Mental Health Assessment Team. She also had a private practice as a family counselor in Highland Mills.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles Berbenich.
She is survived by her brothers Joseph Fay Jr. and Gerard Fay and her sister Kathleen Mishebow (Mark); also her nieces Victoria Essig (Mike) and Jennifer Keyes (William) as well as her great nephews and nieces Robert, Brianna, Emma and John.
Diane was an avid writer and poet who cherished her time with her family and her beloved cats.
Memorial donations can be made to the Rockland County Animal Shelter. A private graveside service will be held.
