David Cabassa

David Cabassa of Highland Mills passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. He was 52 years old.
The son of Frances Rivera and Abad Cabassa, he was born Oct. 16, 1966, in Puerto Rico.
David was a security guard with the Warwick Valley School District and a loader with UPS of New Windsor.
Survivors include his loving wife Danette Ortiz Cabassa; his mother, Frances Rivera of Harriman; his son David Matthew Cabassa and daughter Devin Marie Cabassa of Highland Mills, and his son David Anthony Ortiz of the Bronx; his sister Esther Cabassa-Dewoody of Newton, N.J., and brother Noel Cabassa of Pomona; his half brothers: Abby Cabassa of Kentucky, Danny Cabassa of Ledgewood, N.J., Joseph Cabassa of Atlanta, Ga.; his half sister Maria Cabassa of Kissimee, Fla.; his three grandchildren: Alina, Joel and Evan; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation and a chapel service officiated by the Rev. Dr. Isaac J. Castaneda were was held Oct. 22 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home in Monroe.
Cremation was held at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
