    Clarence “Gerny” Miller of Central Valley passed away Friday, June 8, 2012, at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. He was 87 and a lifelong resident of the area.

    The son of Peter and Anna Marie Paffenroth Miller, he was born July 3, 1924, in Warwick.

    Gerny was a retired assembly worker for Ford Motor Company in Mahwah, N.J., and was the owner of Miller’s Outdoor Furniture in Central Valley for 25 years.

    He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the USS Wake Island during World War II as a seaman first class. He received the American Theatre Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Medal with three stars, European African Middle Eastern Medal and the Victory Medal.

    He was a member of the Woodbury American Legion Post #779.

    Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Jacqueline Holt Miller of Central Valley; son Steve Miller and his wife Donna of Central Valley; daughters Shirley Toulios and her husband Dionissios of Monroe, Cindi Blaison and her husband George of Walden and Joyce Trentacosta of Milford, Pa.; his brother Clifford Miller and his wife Theresa of Bristol, Conn.; his sister Mildred Boyce of Middletown; seven grandchildren: April, Christopher, Matthew, Michael, Bradley, Tyler and Amberae; three great grandchildren: Gavin, Christopher and Teré; and nieces and nephews.

    He was predeceased by his daugher, Brenda Miller.

    Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 12, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.

    The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Cemetery of the Highlands on Route 32 in Highland Mills.
