Christopher P. Balko of Monroe passed away Monday, July 4, 2016, at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Cornwall. He was 23 years old.
Son of Peter Anthony Balko Sr. and Rachelle Teresa Maclerio Balko, he was born Jan. 31, 1993, in Nyack.
Christopher was a graduate of Washingtonville High School and was a proud member of their football team. His love of football soon grew to all sports, in particular New York Rangers hockey.
As outgoing and caring as any young man could possibly be, his choices were always made with his heart for he would always put others before himself.
Along with his parents Peter and Rachelle, he is survived by his loving family: brothers Peter Anthony Balko Jr., Eric Anthony Balko and Joseph Maclerio; his sisters: Rachel Marie Balko and Angela Maclerio; his paternal grandmother Julia Balko; his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; but most importantly his nieces and nephews: Thomas, Anthony, Sara Marie, Gio, Darren and Trevor, all of whom he took tremendous pride in.
Let the record show that all of us will continue to take tremendous pride in Chris until it is our time to meet him again.
Christopher was predeceased by close family as well, his paternal grandfather Thomas Balko, along with his maternal grandparents John and Angelina Maclerio. All of whom he is lovingly with now.
A grave side service, officiated by the Rev. Michael F. Keane, was held July 12 in Seamanville Cemetery, in Monroe.
