Carmine A. Tripoli

    Carmine A. Tripoli passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. He was 83 and a lifelong resident of the area.
    The son of Joseph and Rose DeRossi Tripoli, he was born Jan. 30, 1929, in Tuxedo.
    Carmine was the widower of Virginia Riley Tripoli.
    He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He would later retired as a mechanic for the Village of Tuxedo Park’s Highway Department.
    His family’s statement reads: “Carmine was a Ham Radio Operator, who enjoyed talking with people from all over the world. He had a unique talent for woodworking and made many special wood-crafted novelties. He was most proud of his two grandchildren and the accomplishments they have made in their lives and got such great joy from his great-grandson. Carmine also had a great love of animals.”
    Survivors include his son Michael F. Tripoli of Drewryville, Va; his two daughters: Barbara D. Bernhardt and her husband Gary of Monroe and Janet L. Nardella of Harriman; his sister Helen H. Haas of Sarasota, Fla., his granddaughters: Kimberly Tankasali and Jennifer Bateman and his great grandson, William Bateman.
    Carmine was predeceased by his grandchild Kristen Rose Tripoli.
    There will be no visitation. A funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 8 at Sacred Heart Church in Monroe. Interment of cremains will take place at a future date in Ascension Cemetery in Monsey at the convenience of the family.
