Carmen J. Gubernick

    Carmen J. Gubernick of Highland Mills passed away on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. She was 70 and had been a resident of the area for 41 years.
    Daughter of Joseph and Jennie Trongone Falasca, she was born on July 13, 1942, in the Bronx.
    She was the widow of Jay M. Gubernick.
    Carmen was a para-professional at Orange-Ulster B.O.C.E.S. in Chester. She was a member of the Woodbury Republican Committee and a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Highland Mills.
    She is survived by her daughter Holly Gubernick-Borzacchiello and her husband Mario of Cornwall; her sons Jay Gubernick and his wife Lisa of Monroe and Joseph Gubernick of Highland Mills; her brother Joseph Falasca of Highland Mills; her sisters Geraldine Cea of Highland Mills and Tammy Falasca of Arizona; four grandchildren: Christina, Mario, Ryan and Ava; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
    She was predeceased by her brother Richard Falasca.
