    Clarence E. “Big Ed” Earl Sr. passed away Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at his home in Wurtsboro. He was 75 years old.

    Son of Nelson and Helen Barker Earl, he was born April 14, 1936, in Harriman. He was the widower of Iris L. Taylor Earl.

    Clarence was a laborer with Local #17 in Newburgh. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

    Survivors include his sons Kevin Earl and his wife Ann of Tuxedo and Clarence E. Earl Jr. of Montrose; his daughters Helen Rivera and her husband Moe of Bullville, Carol Pulos and her companion Otis of Bullville, Tammy Cheras and her companion John of North Carolina and Monica Smith and her husband Jason of Leland, N.C.; his brothers Jerry Earl and his wife Faye of Wurtsboro and James Earl and his wife Linda of Smallwood; his sister Alice Carey and her husband Bill of Wurtsboro; 14 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

    Clarence was predeceased by his sons Edward and Christopher, his sisters Diane Behnke and Verna Hartwick and granddaughter Nicole Earl.

    Grave side services were held Feb. 15 at Cemetery of the Highlands in Highland Mills.
