Barbara O’Dwyer of Washingtonville, beloved wife of the late Denis P. O’Dwyer, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025. She was 89 years old.

The daughter of William and Margaret (Doody) Supple, she was born on April 17, 1936, in Cambridge, Mass.

Barbara was a long-standing parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Washingtonville. She was a secretary for a State Assembly member in Newburgh and she also belonged to Catholic Daughters of America, Court St. Ann, Mother of Mary #2419, in Washingtonville.

She also volunteered at Kountry Kids Food Pantry and Thrift Store in Washingtonville. “She was an amazing wife, mother, sister and friend.”

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children: Margaret Warren (husband Peter) of Washingtonville; Maureen Gilman (husband Nate) of Oviedo, Fla.; Elizabeth Arnold (husband Russell) of Parsippany, N.J.; Denis O’Dwyer of Austin, Texas; and Sean O’Dwyer (wife Renee) of Congers. She will be missed by her siblings: Patricia Carroll of Nashua, N.H.; Paul Supple of Marlborough, Mass.; and James Supple of Framingham, Mass.; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Barbara leaves a legacy of 16 beloved grandchildren: Caeley, Sean, Matthew, Michaela, Meagan, Samantha, Taylor, Nathan, Ashley, Casey, Kelley, Isabella, Emerson, Riley, Mackenzie and Ryan.

Visitation was held April 28 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated April 29 at St. Mary’s Church, 42 Goshen Ave., Washingtonville.

Interment followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
