Anthony Buccheri

Anthony Buccheri of Monroe passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, at Orange Regional Medical Center in Wallkill. He was 77.

Anthony was born May 26, 1942, in the Bronx, the son of Nicholas and Anna Bizenza Buccheri.

Anthony served in the U.S. Army in 1961-62.

His working career began at Western Union in New York City, where he was a manager for 25 years. He later worked for the Asbestos Carting Company in the Bronx and retired from Powercom in Yonkers in 2004.

After his career, Anthony, or "T," as he was lovingly called, worked as an attendant for Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush Inc. Funeral Home in Monroe. His kind and gentle nature made him an integral part of assisting others in their time of grief and healing.

He was a member of the Woodbury Field and Stream Club in Highland Mills.

Survivors include his wife, Jo-Anne, at home; his sons, Nicholas and his wife, Kim, of Florham Park, N.J., Robert and his wife, Annemarie, of Wappingers Falls; his daughter, Jennifer Rosso, and her husband, Sal, of Clintondale; his sister, Carol Ann Mazzella, and her husband, Sal, of the Town of Greenville; seven grandchildren, Deanna, Alyssia, Francesca, A.J., Alexis, Jackson and Ava; one great-grandchild, Jaxen; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Nov. 20 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave. in Monroe. A funeral Mass was held Nov. 21 at St. Anastasia Church, 110 Route 17M, Harriman. Burial was to follow in Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
