HIGHLAND MILLS — The Highland Mills United Methodist Church marked Holy Week with a special event on Saturday afternoon, April 7.

Held outdoors on the church grounds, “Journey to the Cross” was designed to demonstrate the real meaning of Easter, far beyond the candy and colored eggs. In a dramatic and moving way, attendees were able to walk the steps to see, hear, touch and smell the last hours of Jesus’ life, and to better understand that He went to the cross, died and was resurrected so that those who believe in Him will have life eternal.

The event was so moving that members of the church are already planning to make “Journey to the Cross” an annual event.
